What Tally is great at

TallyPrime has full double-entry accounting, GST and TDS returns, IMS actions on GSTR-2B, connected banking and WhatsApp sharing, in keyboard-first screens that many CAs have used for years. That is why Finocket keeps the same vocabulary, the same drill-downs and a one-tap export back to it.

Pick Tally if…

  • You want desktop-first data entry with a full-time accountant on staff
  • You rely on TDL customisations or ODBC integrations
  • Your practice files dozens of audits straight from local Tally data

Pick Finocket if…

  • You want the same books on your phone: group tree, ledgers, journal vouchers, P&L
  • You want to raise invoices and record payments from your phone, not only read reports there
  • You want scan-to-add and voice entry in Indian languages included, not as an add-on
  • You want your masters and opening balances brought across, with an unbalanced set of books refused rather than plugged
  • You want the AI's rupee impact on screen before it writes, and a reversing entry (never a deletion) after
  • You'd rather hand your CA a clean export than a Tally backup
  • You also want CRM, outreach or partner commissions in the same app

Finocket vs Tally FAQ

Alongside. Finocket gives you the same daily books on your phone (double-entry ledgers on the 28 Tally groups, journal vouchers, Day Book, Trial Balance, P&L, Balance Sheet and an un-switch-off-able edit log), and your CA keeps finalising in Tally from a one-tap XML export. Plenty of people end up doing everything here; that's their call to make after a few months, not a switch you have to flip on day one.

Yes. Invite them as a read-only member for a live view, or use the Hand-to-CA ZIP to export a whole date range they can reconcile in Tally.

Turn on accountant mode and Voucher / Ledger / Party / Narration replace Payment / Client / Client / Description throughout the app.

Two ways, neither of which is a project. Export your Tally masters as XML and Finocket brings across ledgers, groups, parties, stock items and the opening trial balance. The file is read on your device rather than uploaded, every figure is on screen before anything is written, and if the opening books don't balance it names the difference to the paise and refuses instead of plugging a suspense figure. Vouchers deliberately stay in Tally: replaying them would re-recognise revenue your opening balances already carry, so the wizard counts them and says so. An import can be undone, and whatever can't be undone is named before you commit. Or skip the import entirely and run the two side by side, recording new work in Finocket from today.

Four things you can check. Before you confirm, the proposed action shows the money moving (before and after, per bucket, in rupees) and whether it can be undone; that's a classification of the action's impact, not a dry run of the exact voucher. You set the ceiling: a rupee limit and a how-many-people limit on what the assistant may put in front of you, and raising it never removes the human confirm. There is no unattended mode. If a journal is posted and it's wrong, one tap posts a linked, sign-flipped compensating entry rather than editing or deleting the original, so the ledger shows both; that one-tap reversal covers journals the assistant posted, and an owner does it. And every AI action lands in an append-only log the database will not let anyone edit or delete, each row carrying a server-computed SHA-256 hash of the row before it, so a tampered row is detectable. That log is separate from, and additional to, the Rule 11g edit log on your books.

Nothing to start: Free for solo users until 31 Dec 2026 — no partner code needed. ₹99/month after that. So you can run Finocket alongside your existing Tally licence and decide with real experience instead of a demo.
